Introduction to Ayurveda (Non-Credited Course)

Ayurveda is an East Indian ancient healing practice that has been in use of over 5000 years. The word “Ayurveda”® means “Science of Life”®. The “Life of the person and its Environment”®. The uniqueness of this ancient teaching is not to treat the disease but to understand the dis-ease of body and mind. Ayurveda looks at an Individual and the Universe as one. Our Universe/Environment (life forces out side of us) is made up of the 5 elements; Air, Fire, Water, Earth & Ether which contributes greatly to our physical, mental and emotional state. Living in a harmonious energetic field with the elements from Universe; our energies are intertwined and distributed within our bodies into 3 governing constitutions called “Dosha”®. The three dosha’¬s are Pitta, Vata and Kapha. Doshas are known as the governing factor that determines our past and present physical, mental state, and emotional state. The primary goal of Ayurveda is to bring “Balance” to the individual and his/her environment. Some of the basic science Ayurveda teaches is to keep a daily routine of yoga exercise, proper nutrition according to dosha, rest, meditation, massage, seasonal detoxification process and rejuvenation treatments.
Classes Include:
• Learn about the three body types, Pitta, Vata & Kapha.
• Learn to determine the constitution / dosha of your body.
• Learn proper Ayurvedic nutrition according to your dosha.
• Use of herbs for your body type.
• Guide to seasonal cleansing & rejuvenation.
• Massage oil for each body type.
2 day intro 9am -12pm $295.00
